Mood: Indigo / Summer 2024
“Among the ancient elements, blue occurs everywhere: in ice and water, in the flame as purely as in the flower, overhead and inside caves, covering fruit and oozing out of clay,” On Being Blue, William Gass.
Indigo was the starting point of this edit, besides responding to how we were feeling at the time. This set of clothes is for our creative satiation. No trends, no asks, only answering what the heart wants this summer, only answering our creative practice, like meditation.
Soft indigos, specks of indigo, indigos almost as deep as rain-clad clouds. Indigo forms the basis of this collection, which is also punctuated by soft colours that compliment the pigment. Together, the colours form a harmony to inspire.
Blue, after all, is the muse this summer!
Find pieces in our signature light-weight handwoven cotton from West Bengal with some new, some reinvented Jamdanis. There is some kala cotton from Gujarat, some variation of linen that is lighter than what we use generally. Most of the pieces are naturally dyed, those that aren’t, have been dyed using azo-free colours. We’ve also dabbled with traditional dyeing techniques in some of the textiles-- more on that as we go deeper into the technique.
One thing that’s common in all the garments: they are light-weight, kind to the environment and made consciously!
